A gorgeous house with golf course views needed to feel like home for this family with young kids—so the entire first floor got a redesign. We moved the back entrance out of the kitchen, transforming that space into a kitchen desk area, and added a peninsula bar. We created a new back entry, adding a uber useful mudroom with cubbies and drawers and closets for everything. The large dining room became a sophisticated space for dinner parties, family gatherings, and even enjoying the view in one of the comfy upholstered head chairs with coordinating footstools. We added a custom walnut dry bar and a zebra wood buffet. The family room called for a bit of whimsy—which we achieved with the zebra rug, lush purple sectional, and custom wall art installation with colorful hand-blown glass balls.
